A small figurine of a gardner boy carrying a basket of flowers and a hoe. This is part of a group of very popular child figurines produced in 1774–1814, when the porcelain manufactory was managed by Count Camillo Marcolini. Meissen ware from that period was marked with a star connected to the traditional crossed swords. Figurines of children were so popular, they have remained in Meissen’s repertoire to this day.
